Fishing is a significant industry of Iceland and it is the 12th largest fishing country in the world. It is a highly developed nation and among the newly-industrialized in Europe. Main currency of the nation is the Icelandic Krona. The economy of Iceland is export oriented. Main industries of Iceland include: fish processing, aluminum smelting, geothermal power, ferrosilicon production and tourism. Iceland's main trade partners are the EU and EFTA countries, the US and Japan.
